Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!
Here we want to help you reach your personal and professional goals without losing your soul.
Today's podcast guest is my good friend Gerald Fadayomi. Gerald is an Atlanta based communicator/preacher with a passion for inspiring students to have an active faith. This passion has allowed him to speak to students at camps and conferences across the country including North Point Ministries, Bigstuf Camps, Orange Conference and many other events. Gerald is the author of 'Before You Go', a resource designed to help students follow Jesus and grow in their faith after high school. He also co-authored 'Starting Now', a devotional for college freshman. Gerald now serves as the Founder and President of the Stello Initiative, a 501c3 organization that mobilizes college students to serve through service based conferences. Prior to this role, Gerald spent 3 years doing non-profit work for the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, and 4 years as a student pastor at Browns Bridge Church. Gerald is happily married to his beautiful wife, Kiley, and they just had two beautiful baby girls, Wesley and Zoey who are twins! Gerald loves spending his free time cheering on Lebron James and browsing through the SNKRS app.
In part one of this episode my good friend Gerald Fadayomi began to give us the recipe for how we can make lemonade out of lemons. Gerald also gave us some incredible insights from a black leaders perspective on how we can all develop a greater understanding of systemic racism and solutions that we can be a part of personally. If you haven’t listened to that episode yet, make sure to go check that out. Also in-between the release of these conversations Gerald’s new book, ‘When Life Gives You Lemons’ released so make sure to go purchase your own copy at thelemonbook.com where he offers some great free resources to compliment the book. In part two today, Gerald goes on to share with us some of the rhythms and practices he uses to keep his soul healthy. I personally loved his end of year retreat practice and some of the intentional things he builds into that. So stick around until the end of the conversation and you will have all the tools you need to begin creating a practice like this one for yourself…
