I Got News For You?" as well as authoring several successful novels and memoirs.  He wrote the screenplay for the film "Chicken
Run" and the musicals "Something Rotten" and "Mrs Doubtfire".  John stood for parliament as the Labour Party
candidate in the “no hope” seat of Maidenhead at the 2001 general election.
