We start Episode 15 with an informal discussion of our reflections on this year’s Theorizing the Web conference, which we recorded on the long car ride home. Theorizing the Web is an annual conference in New York that focuses on social issues in digital technology.
After our brief discussion we bring you interviews with three conference speakers who we thought were doing work relevant to the show. First, we talk to Kelly Steinmetz about the use and social impact of sex emojis. Then, we talk to Mattie Brice about the politics of how trans women are treated on dating sites. And lastly, we talk to Lindsay Ferris about the ways that women queer tech up, particularly in relation to dating apps like Tinder.
