Matt Easton came out in his valedictorian speech at BYU in 2019. His speech was pre-approved by his professors. He was met with love and support from many. This week at BYU, Jeffery Holland, an apostle of the Mormon church, publicly condemned Matt, claiming he "commandeered the stage." Holland warned against supporting LGBTQ equality, which is contrary to the church's doctrine.  Matt was raw, vulnerable, brave and authentic during our conversation.
