Unrest in Hong Kong is becoming increasingly violent. This week, a policeman shot a protester, a Beijing supporter was set on fire and an elderly man died after being hit by a brick. University campuses have become sites of clashes between riot police and protesters, exacerbating public anger toward police perceived as using excessive force.
