We hope you take the time to learn more about pit bulls and some of the people who work hard to rescue these wonderful dogs. Each dog is an individual, so one suggestion we make is to take the time to get to know your animal. You might find that pit bulls are terrific companions and are ready to change your life in a positive way.

The overcrowded conditions in many animal shelters often highlights the problems pit bulls present for animal rescue. They are some of the most overbred dogs, and because of their controversial reputation of dog bites and association with dog fighting, are sometimes considered less desirable by prospective adopters. This can cause tremendous suffering, as some pit bulls stay in shelters for years, or are euthanized.

You'll hear stories of those who work with pit bulls directly and listen to their experiences with animals of all sorts, including pit bulls.

Thanks to Peter Zheutlin for the connection to Dr. Sara Kelly.
