Next Episode: People Need the Lord

As a society we are facing many challenges today, and some of us are also going through difficult personal trials as well. Of course, there are the global climate issues and pandemic crisis we often hear about, and there’s also political conflict, economic stress, and racial tension. Meanwhile many of us are also dealing medical issues, family dynamics, or career questions. We may sometimes find ourselves wondering if God is really in control, or if we acknowledge that God is in control, we may be asking “What is God thinking?”

This week, we will be reflecting on the story of Job. Job faced an avalanche of personal tragedies where he lost his property, his family, and his physical health, all in a short period of time. Job’s friends came to offer him consolation, but they were not very helpful. Job sat in misery on the ground, covered in boils, wishing he had never been born. He pleaded his case to God, asking why God had allowed such terrible things to happen to him. He was devoted, faithful, and honest, never rejecting God, even in his misery, yet God allowed Job to suffer immeasurably. Join us this Sunday as we reflect on God’s response to Job and how God may be responding to us.
