For anyone to prove or to be absolutely certain there is no GOD, he or she would have to actually be GOD themselves, possessing at least 2 godly characteristics. One would have to be omnipresent (the ability to be present everywhere at once and have been present before the beginning of time and able to be present after end-times) and omniscient (the ability to possess all awareness and understanding of all things: past, present, and future).

The Bible tells us, “In the beginning, GOD created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of GOD was hovering over the waters” Genesis 1:1-2. The most profound evidence of the existence of GOD is incredibly outside the writings of the Bible, it is the universe. If GOD does not exist, then the universe would have had to create itself.

Now let's examine that possibility. For the universe to have created itself, it would have had to both exist and not exist at the same time. Puzzled? Follow closely. For the universe to have created itself, it would have had to first exist and be prior to itself. Because in order for anything to create something, it has to first exist itself. Since nothing can exist prior to itself to bring itself to be, this leaves us to draw the conclusion that it is impossible for the universe to have created itself.

Here are 2 questions for skeptics who hold firm to the Big Bang Theory:

#1. What existed before the universe, to cause it to be and even generate a bang?

#2. And whatever that was, should we not at least research it and upon discovery, honor and, even worship it?

GOD, Himself is pure existence, or what some call “pure actuality”, meaning with no possibility of not existing. Put another way, many things can have existence, but only GOD can “be” existence. Other things have “being” but only GOD is “Being”.

GOD alone is a self-existent being and the initial cause of everything that exists. John 5:26 simply says, “The Father has life in Himself.” Paul preached, “He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else” Acts 17:25.

GOD is a necessary being whose non-existence is impossible. GOD is the only necessary being; all other things are contingent beings. If GOD did not exist, then neither would anything else. Job states: “If He should determine to do so, If He should gather to Himself His spirit and His breath, All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust” Job 34:14–15.
