Hey y’all!!! I’m Brian, host of the Pastor Brian Podcast. We began this podcast with a simple goal- to help people pray. The original idea was to do one podcast a week that people could use daily. We thought we would then add 5 additional readings of scripture for people to use daily during the work/school week that went along with the prayer pocast. Well, COVID-19 happened and during the lock-down we could make unique daily podcasts. The pandemic actually helped us see a major flaw in the original idea . . . if you use a podcast once, your format usually erases the podcast. This would make getting the episode again rather difficult and tiresome to do every day. Also, having 5 additional supplemental podcasts with scriptures to be read during the week would be hard for people to use daily. One would have to exit out of the prayer podcast at the appointed time, go to the daily scripture podcast to hear the daily scripture, then back to the prayer podcast. This would have been cumbersome at best!
Next week, we will take a week off for preparation of the Season 2. In Season 2 we will combine the original idea of a weekly set of order and prayers with the pandemic experience of a daily podcast. Therefore, the form and prayers will run the whole week long. However, each day will have the unique daily scriptures embedded into them. We really like this idea because it comes with some ancient Christian wisdom: when you use the same form and prayers throughout the week, God can speak to you in different and deeper ways in those prayers. Thus, the long and short of it, in Season Two you will still get a daily episode!!! Also, we will make some nicer improvements which you will just have to wait and see. And, of course . . . great daily scripture readers!
