Pass The Baton, Not The Patron

15 episodes - English - Latest episode: over 3 years ago - ★★★★★ - 32 ratings

No one hypes up a good time as much as Black people! What we don't do a good job at is having deeper conversations on how we can help each other prevail in White America. Pass the Baton, Not the Patron addresses this issue and focuses on how we can help each other succeed, particularly in the Tech Industry that has always been predominantly run by old white males. PTBNTP podcast will consist of interviews with other leaders who work in tech on the unique struggles they’ve experienced and how they overcame them. We believe this will be invaluable knowledge that can be passed to our listeners who are striving to get to where these leaders are and beyond! Our goal is to shift the narrative and encourage each other to seek success. This includes amplifying the Black Lives Matter movement and spotlighting women in Tech and how they get ahead in a male-dominated industry. With 50% of our interviewees being those who do not identify as male, it was important to us to not only just include, but collaborate with women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals, in an industry that often leaves them behind!
