Panthers Gets Back To Winning Ways And Identity In 4-2 Win Over Washington

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brings in Nich Fairbanks(@prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday. The guys break down Thursday night's 4-2 Panthers win over the Washington Capitals. The first period had only 12:01 of 5-on-5 time but Florida was able to set the tone early in creating a multitude of chances, especially from the fourth line. Although the Panthers trailed twice, one of those on a power play goal by Alexander Ovechkin, his 43rd career goal against the Panthers. The game was never out of reach as Washington scored shortly after Florida missed on an opportunity to take the lead in the second period by Anthony Mantha. The Panthers in the final 40 minutes got to the net more as their first three goals came in the slot, two off of redirection by Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Reinhart. Reinhart's goal came on the power play for his 38th goal of the season, Tkachuk finishes with three points (1,2), the Panthers blue line got 20 of the 41 shots on goal on the night, Maurice shuffled the top 9 placing Carter Verhaeghe back with Aleksander Barkov and Nick Cousins with Sam Bennett and Tkachuk. Sergei Bobrovsky also make a big stop in the first period on a penalty shot by Beck Malenstyn. The guys give their three stars, when they thought this game was won or lost, and look ahead to the Colorado Avalanche.
