Erik Gudbranson: C'mon, Man.

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to discuss the Panthers 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets from Nationwide Arena. The Panthers gave up quite a bit of odd man rushes, but mostly took care of the neutral zone and had Columbus pinned deep as they were without Captain Boone Jenner. This was after the Panthers and Blue Jackets had 40 minutes of 5-on-5. The biggest story out of this one was the boarding call from Nick Cousins on Erik Gudbranson 24 seconds into the 3rd period. Gudbranson was not pleased and decided to go after Nick Cousins. After originally being ruled a five minute major and a lengthy review, the call was changed to a minor penalty. Later in the period, that's where it got uglier. As Nick Cousins was attempting to get the puck deep into the Blue Jackets zone, Gudbranson grabs Cousins' head, drops him down on the ice and throws a flurry of punches after taking exception to the earlier. The Cats were awarded a 7-minute power play(one one for instigating and one for fighting) and the Panthers cashed in with 30 seconds left and having 12 shots on goal. We discuss not only whether or not it was a dirty hit by Nick Cousins, and what is next for Gudbranson. We also discuss where certain Panthers stand as far as streaks, and how the rest of the road trip is currently looking or the Cats.
