We Believe // Week 1

HOLY BIBLE

We believe in the verbal inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given and that they are infallible and uniquely authoritative and free from error of any sort in all matters with which they deal, including scientific and historical as well as moral and theological matters. (I TIMOTHY 3:16; I CORINTHIANS 2:13)

TRINITY

We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible.

MATTHEW 28:19 NIV

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

2 CORINTHIANS 13:14 NIV

14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

CREATION

We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain divine righteousness.

GENESIS 1:1-3

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain divine righteousness.

ROMANS 5:12,18

12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned— 18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.

SALVATION

We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins.

EPHESIANS 2:8-9   8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

ROMANS 5:8-11 NIV

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

JESUS’ RESURRECTION & SECOND COMING

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples.

(I CORINTHIANS 15:1-4; ROMANS 4:25)

JESUS’ RESURRECTION & SECOND COMING (CONT.)

We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation and His coming again the second time for the Church. (JOHN 14:2-3; I THESSALONIANS 4:13-18)
