Welcome to a brand new season of Owning Up! This week, AMSE founders Moni Jefferson and Flossie Hall start this season with a story of monumental proportions. Thanks to the support of the well-known and trusted publication, Stars and Stripes, history is made with the production and distribution of the first-ever Military Spouse Entrepreneur Guide.

In this episode, Moni and Flossie share how a vision, from years ago, has finally been brought to life! After months of labor and love, they share the lengths they went to and the support they had from the team of creative writers, photographers, and editors that helped to make this dream become a reality. Plus, they express their deepest gratitude for Corey Henderson, Multimedia Consultant with Stars and Stripes, for being such a supportive aspect of this endeavor.  

Moni and Flossie are no strangers to the struggle military spouse entrepreneurs have faced when it comes to locating information on military bases for those spouses interested in starting their businesses. Both ladies touch on their efforts to find support when they fell into their entrepreneurship; and how they leaned on their resilience and courage to push past the nay-sayers to live out their passion and dreams.

 This guide was created for other military spouses to know they have a community here to support them, encourage them, and give them the courage to become a military spouse entrepreneur. The guide not only provides a step-by-step resource about how to start your own business but a Milspouse Business Directory, which features over 500 spouses who share their talents and skills.

AMSE created this guide because we want to be where military spouses can go for resources about how to begin a business and layer it with our community. After all, you can’t do any of this alone.   As of right now, there have been 100,000 printed copies distributed on bases globally, plus digitally.  The guide from front to back is all military writers and photographers. Plus, it is broken down into multiple topics and references. The guide is currently on military bases around the globe, plus USO Pathfinder locations.  We are celebrating AMSE for surpassing 1000 members!
