On the past 3 occasions Manchester United have upset expectations by winning against one of the best teams to grace the English Premier League. This derby likely lacked atmosphere due to the fans’ absence but maybe also due to both side being unwilling to risk losing all the points available whilst languishing in ‘upper-mid table’. Solskjaer and Guardiola both are having their reputations questioned, one due to his team crashing out of the Champion’s League and the other because his team are not meeting the high standards he has set for himself and his teams. We tactically analyse this tense affair.
