Judith Scott was born on May 1st 1943 and passed away, in the arms of her twin sister Joyce, in March 2005 aged 62 years old. Not unlike Adolf Wolfli and Martin Ramirez, Scott lived a life that was broken into distinct parts, but unlike Wolfli and Ramirez it was her freedom from institutionalisation that led to her embarking on her artistic career.
