Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with University of Washington alum and current member of the US Women’s National Team, the one and only, Sis Bates.

Sis has had an amazing career to date and it just continues to grow.  She is a 3 time PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Year, 3 time NFCA All-American, the All Time leader in hits and triples for the Huskies, and was also named 2019 Seattle Female Sports Star of the Year.  Not to mention, Sis is probably one of the best defensive players to ever play the game in our opinion and I’m sure many other.

We’re gonna talk to Sis about getting her start in the game, how she got her nickname that she goes by to this day, the amazing story of her and her dad making 6 hour, one way trips, every weekend, for her to improve her game, her journey to Washington that began for her after watching the 2009 WCWS, of course, her time at Athletes Unlimited where we may or may not have a fan girling session over Sam Fischer and much, much more.

Sis was such a joy to chat with.  The always happy and smiling Sis that you see on TV is exactly who I had the pleasure of chatting with.  Trust me when I say you’re all going to enjoy this episode.
