It’s been a cinematically dystopian time to be alive, so what better way to commemorate the (hopeful) ending of the weirdness than by watching “Love and Monsters”—the perfect movie for 2021.

In “Love and Monsters”, an asteroid is headed toward earth threatening death and destruction, but humans launch a bomb at it, successfully preventing a disaster. Yet, a disaster of another kind happens… fallout from the detonation rains on earth, turning all of the cold-blooded animals into gigantic, monstrous creatures.

95% of the population is decimated and the few that remain live underground, including Joel, who’s been living in an underground bunker for 7 years. Joel eventually makes his way above ground, in a courageous acceptance of the world he inhabits.

What themes and lessons can we take away from Joel’s journey as we move forward in our own lives? Join Sean, Paul, and Jen as they discuss all this and more in this week’s episode of Out of Frame: Behind the Scenes.
