This week on The Authentic Woman, Guest Host Susan Singer will interview author and journalist, Pythia Peay. Peay writes about spirituality, psychology, and the American psyche. Over the past thirty years, she has covered such topics as the soul of the city, prayer circles, near death experiences, the rebirth of “feminine spirituality,” post-traumatic stress syndrome, depression, political psychology, and has conducted interviews with scores of pioneering thinkers from Clarissa Pinkola Estes to Robert Jay Lifton.

Peay’s work over the years has appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers, including Utne Magazine, Washingtonian, Religion News Service, The Washington Post, La Repubblica, The Cleveland Plain Dealer and past publications such as George, New Woman and Common Boundary. Currently she writes for The Huffington Post, Psychology Today, and her own blog, America on the Couch. She has received awards for her work from The American Association of University Women and Women in the Media.

Susan Singer is a rabble-rousing artist, activist, writer, and teacher whose primary desire is to make the world a better place by ending violence against women, helping people find their personal path, creating beauty, and spreading creativity. She uses her artwork to reach deep within herself to find her core and to channel her vision of Spirit to inspire, delight, (and perhaps sometimes provoke!) others.

The Authentic Woman with Shannon Fisher explores personal, political, and societal perspectives of the female experience in America.
