The group gather to discuss two films that tackle the black experience in America, the paradigm shift that has taken place in Hollywood over the last fifty years and how this all relates to this year's Oscar Best Picture potential nominees.

Directed by Norman Jewison, In The Heat Of The Night pairs Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger (who won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance) in the story of a murder investigation in a racially hostile southern town, featuring 'the slap that was heard around the world'.

Written by Barry Jenkins and Tarrell Alvin McCraney, directed by Jenkins, Moonlight is a fascinating chronicle of the childhood, adolescence and burgeoning adulthood of a young, African-American, gay man growing up in a rough neighbourhood of Miami.
