Restore: The Plan of Salvation
Acts 2:38
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do? "Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:37-38 (NIV)
The Plan of Salvation:
1. BELIEVE
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” Acts 16:30-31 (NIV)
·ASSENT
·TRUST
2. REPENT
Repentance is a “change of mind” about YOUR SIN.
3. CONFESS
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)
4. Be BAPTIZED
·Everyone is to be baptized as PART OF their conversion experience.
·The correct way to baptize is by IMMERSION.
·Baptism symbolizes being placed in a GRAVE.
