1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11
Gospel – “GOOD NEWS”
“Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you…that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…” 1 Corinthians 15:1a, 3b-4
“For we believe that Jesus died and rose again…” 1 Thessalonians 4:14a
“For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10
3 Hope-Full words because of the Gospel:
1. RETURN
“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven…” 1 Thessalonians 4:16a
MAJESTIC
TRIUMPHANT
PERSONAL
2. RESURRECTION
“…and the dead in Christ will rise first.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16b
3. REUNION
“After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17
