Ridicule. Scorn. Reproach. Contempt. Criticism. Just saying those words makes our hearts heavy for Job. In today’s episode, we hear from Job’s third friend, Zophar, who lashes out at him in anger, saying that Job deserved more punishment, not less. Ouch.   Have you ever been devastated by the false accusations of a friend? Or misunderstood by someone you love and trust? Pretty sure we can all say we have experienced these heartaches at some point in our lives. Maybe even right now. Be sure to listen in to how, in the midst of the seemingly constant criticism of his friends, Job not only calls them out for their weak attempts to make everything neat and tidy but also hear these words from him, “I’ve had it with you, I’m going directly to God.”   May we, like Job, go directly to God when the struggles and heartaches of this world weigh too heavy to bear in our own lives.
