In this Episode I discuss
The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) members voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike if they don't reach a deal with major entertainment company studios by June 30, 2023. Nearly 98% of voting members were in favor of the strike, SAG-AFTRA said. However, SAG-AFTRA cannot go on strike before their contract expires on June 30, 2023, and a membership vote authorizes a strike, which is then declared by the National Board or its designee¹.

On July 14, 2023, the American actors' union SAG-AFTRA went on strike over an ongoing labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). It has coincided with a Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike in a series of broader Hollywood labor disputes³. The SAG-AFTRA strike specifically concerns any work performed under the union’s TV and theatrical contracts, meaning actors can’t work on any major feature films or scripted television—whether on network, cable or streaming services—or promote any of their film or television projects that fall under those contracts
