The Black Lives Matter movement has gained unprecedented momentum in the past couple of weeks. Cities across the globe have been protesting in the streets for days on end. It's become so mainstream that corporations have made statements and Diversity boards are being created left and right.

Miya and Miranda discuss somewhat current events and highlight a few Black voices that have been inspiring them lately. Call them artists, influencers, or activists, but just know these people are using their voices to encourage long-term action and change. Some you may recognize, like John Boyega, while others we hope to get on your radar.

As of the published date of this podcast, only one officer involved in Breonna Taylor's case has been fired. Brett Hackison was fired for use of deadly force while Myles Cosgrove and Jonathan Mattingly have been put on administrative reassignment. The three men who shot Ahmaud Arbery have been indicted by a grand jury. Activists are still fighting for justice for Breonna Taylor and so many other Black lives, including Elijah McClain.
