NBA Finals Game 1 Recap, Churchill Downs Saturday Night Racing.

What an amazing night in sports last night!!!! If you listened to our previous episode, both Geno G and Travis gave their selections when it came to the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both of them selected the Golden State Warriors to not only win last night but take the series (5 games predicted by Geno G and 6 games by Travis ). WELL...it was anything but easy for   GSW. 

What ended up being a 56-56 halftime score, with just seconds left in the game, a missed FT from George Hill was rebounded by JR Smith who seemed to be lost as to what he wanted to do. He stated after the game "I was trying to get free to call a timeout to set up a play. I knew we were tied. I wasn't trying to run out the clock whatsoever." Although that seems farfetched if you actually watched the game, a shot didnt get off and overtime we went. In OT, it was all GSW who ESCAPED with a 124-114 W. Cleveland was led by Lebron James who had 51 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists while GSW was led by Curry who had 29 points and 9 assists. 

The biggest takeaway from this was the skirmish that transpired at the end. There was a questionable call which led to the ejection of Tristan Thompson (which could mean possible further suspension), Draymond Green seemed to instigate it more by clapping in Thompson's face who didnt take to well to it and so it ensued. The players involved were Green, Thompson, JR Smith, Curry and even Klay Thompson so we will need to keep an eye on that today to see if anything further happens. 

With that being said, both Geno G and Travis selected the winner (although GSW did not cover the 13 points they were favored by in Vegas) in Game 1. They will make more selections on the podcast tomorrow, so please stay tuned for that.

Speaking of show and Churchill Downs, both Geno G and Travis will be back for a show on Saturday morning giving out Geno's selections of Churchill's Night Racing card. The theme for night racing is "neon lights" and we can only hope Geno gets hot and it's all about the "neon green" in the form of $100 bills!!!!
