The pandemic threw many companies out of whack but Clio, a cloud-based legal tech pioneer, already knew it could handle remote work. Given that the company is based on remote technologies, it’s no surprise that it quickly adapted and pivoted to a fully remote working environment.

Clio CEO Jack Newton tells On the Road host Laurence Colletti about his company’s pivot to a “distributed by design” workforce with bricks and mortar offices serving as communal gathering places or hubs. The onsite is the new offsite at Clio. Nine times out of 10, remote work experience is okay. But in some instances, in-person can’t be beaten, Newton says.

Newton tells Colletti about key developments, including integrations with Google My Business, a digital storefront where legal demand is being created; the new app Clio for Clients, which more seamlessly connects clients to their matters; and updated billing tools to modernize the business of law.

Jack Newton, author of The Client-Centered Law Firm, is CEO and co-founder of Clio.
