Billy Carter owns and runs the legendary Carter Country retail stores in the Houston, Texas, area and is known for a world record 2 mile shot as an ELR (extreme long range) enthusiast. Derrick and Billy talk about the nuances of the wind when shooting extreme distances as well as Billy’s favorite rifle to shoot. Derrick presents Billy with his Horizon Firearms 300 Weatherby truly custom rifle with the family's Sombrerito Ranch brand and a mesquite wood stock gathered from the ranch near Laredo, Texas. Billy’s first memory of helping with the family business was when he was 4 years old loading skeet one by one for visiting shooters. With 70+ years experience and three generations of family involvement, Carters Country currently includes 4 retail stores with a total of 50,000+ square feet, a warehouse and distribution center, a full-service gun repair shop, a public shooting facility, and commercial hunting and guiding operations in three main hunting areas of Texas and Colorado.
