Nicole Meister https://holistawellbeing.ca BSW, MSW, RSW, RCC Nicole is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with experience supporting individuals and families both in the healthcare setting and in her counseling practice. As a single parent, Nicole has faced many of the same challenges families face as they try to raise their children and support their families in an ever-changing world. Her lived experience helps inform her practice, but does not overshadow the experiences each client brings forward during counselling. Nicole focuses on providing space for conversation, reflection, and insight to shed light on how clients can move forward in their lives with confidence and clarity. Nature and animals play a large part in Nicole's life, and finding unique ways for clients to explore their own passions and interests is a key focus of the work she does. Through guided activities, Nicole encourages clients to explore what is most important to them and identify the core values and beliefs that are foundational for the client to find alignment and live a more authentic life. By stripping away the masks that hide who they truly are, clients are able to find a level of confidence and peace that is often stifled behind the expectations of others. Nicole strongly believes that we are all capable of having the life we envision and that clients are not problems that need to be fixed. Nicole applies evidence-based practices and operates from a feminist and narrative therapy perspective. Nicole incorporates aspects of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and positive psychology.
