Maya informs that collectively, we are in the space of liminal time. Understanding the meaning of “liminal time” strengthens a sense of awareness amid upsurges, chaos and disorientation. The liminal space also exists as a natural transition in each and every human life - a necessity for individual growth, forward movement. You may see it as a cosmic rite of passage.  Each person must go through a specific number of liminal passages in their lifetime. This rite of passage is imprinted within the human psyche from birth. It is not a test for endurance, nor is it meant to punish or imperil us. Rather, it is a growth sprout that requires the soil and fodder of austerity to flourish. In anthropology, liminality is the quality of disorientation that occurs in the middle stage of a rite of passage, when participants no longer hold their pre-ritual status but have not yet accomplished the status they will hold when the rite is complete.

Unfortunately, modernity has depleted the prowess we'd otherwise have naturally honed to endure and cross over these liminal junctures into new form. Whilst this passage may seem like an endurance test, it is not meant to imperil or victimize us. These are the natural times when we can let go of inured baggages that no longer serve the light path of our awareness. My own experience elucidates this thought: After my last liminal transition that lasted more than a decade, I almost wished I could have dissolved into a thin breeze, sprout wings and disappear into the ethers. I spent more time grabbling with my old identity while feeling “disoriented” and “stuck” in the present. But, in truth, this passage is sacred. And I am ever so blessed to have passed through.
