Many people can find themselves wishing for items, outcomes, or situations that they believe are exactly what they need for one reason or another. They may find out that what they had hoped for is either not what they needed or not at all what they expected.
The same can be true of Jesus and our expectations of Him. We may have lofty expectations or expectations based on our current world that we project on Him. The same can also be said about Jesus’ contemporaries and the wild expectations they placed on Him.
