Wrapping up this short series on Philemon, we are challenged by God’s command to forgive others. For some of us, the only way we’ve been able to deal with past hurts is to “move on” without ever dealing with the issue (or person) again. Yet the Bible tells us that to forgive is an essential part of Christian living. To not forgive puts us in bondage. It is to use the other’s offense to build a prison of our own making. Forgiveness doesn’t mean letting someone else win; forgiveness lets you go free.
