In 2006, Sam Hughes was found beaten to death in his home in Akron's North Hill neighborhood. Hughes was a small-time drug dealer who mostly sold marijuana to friends, but his new addiction to cocaine might have let new and dangerous people into his life. He left behind family and friends who had been trying to help Sam get his life back in order.
