Today on the show we'll be discussing a new initiative from the founder of the internet, Tim Berners Lee. His new project is called "Solid" and it promises to be a revolutionary platform that provides a secure and portable "pod" for your personal data. As we know, companies like Facebook, Google and Amazon all collect data from their users in exchange for services. Because of the value that the services provide, we allow the services to sell the information that we share with advertisers, who, in turn target us with advertising. It's the foundation of how most digital marketing works on the internet and Solid promises to wipe these business models out overnight. On Solid, the user will decide if they want to share their data or not when using Solid applications and services. As digital marketers, do we need to be worried that digital marketing as we know it will be upended overnight? Well, let's listen in as we hear from several senior digital marketing strategists as they discuss Solid, and if it's really going to be the future of the internet. Please enjoy the show everyone!
