Arleh Alvarez aka DJ A.S.I.A. (her initials) was born and raised in Seattle. Often known for dancing, it was only natural for her to adopt a passion for music and mixing. She started DJing in the summer of 1994 right after enrolling in Seattle University's School of Nursing program. Arleh quickly became known as the Pacific Northwest's first female Hip Hop DJ. Since then, DJ A.S.I.A. has spun in numerous clubs, venues and events around the Puget Sound, United States, Canada, and Mexico with past DJ residencies in her hometown, Chicago, Los Angeles, Waikiki, and Las Vegas. Her years of exposure to Nightlife in various cities has transformed her into an open-format DJ but she still holds Old School Hip Hop and R&B close to her heart.
