This week, the City Council passed the controversial Bruckner rezoning project in the Throggs Neck area of the Bronx. The plan will include 348 units of housing, of which 149 will be affordable. Still, the city faces a massive housing crisis, with rents soaring across the five boroughs, including a record-high average rent of $5,000 in Manhattan. NY1’s Zack Fink, Courtney Gross and Juan Manuel Benítez break down the situation, and look at why the Adams administration’s plan needs more detail.

Additionally, the general election is only a few weeks away, and Republican nominee Lee Zeldin is significantly trailing incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul. The team weighs in on whether he can gain momentum and the ongoing migrant crisis.

We want to hear from you, especially what you think about affordable housing.
