Off the Platform Episode 4 - Steve Lousich & Joseph Whittaker

Greg and Jackson are joined by legendary NZ powerlifter Steve Lousich and the current holder of the largest tested total in NZ, the mighty Joseph Whittaker.

After listening to Geordie’s 47 minute introduction last week we’re nervous how long it will take Steve to cover his powerlifting history from 1982 through to 2020, including the 175 competitions he has done…but he manages to smash out the highlights and its guaranteed we’ll have to get him back on again future episodes for more NZ powerlifting history stories.

Joe recounts his introduction to the sport and his inhumane increases in strength year on year in the early years, training with Thomas Lilley backflips at 130kg, and both he and Steve break down their efforts at the recent WP Nationals the previous weekend, including covering some of the other epic lifts from the WP lifters.

Joe and Jackson finish off with some knurling and bar fanboy discussion and both Steve and Joe share their thoughts on the current NZ powerlifting scene.
