It's been confirmed that a much-needed pipeline in Sligo is set to be replaced by the end of April.

The line from Carraroe to Ballisodare including Jinks' Cross stretches five kilometres and has been prone to numerous bursts.

The scheme has now been completed and Irish Water have confirmed, the new pipeline will be installed this year.

Councillor Thomas Healy says that there's been an ongoing issue over the last number of years and the new development will be of much relief to the local community.
