Episode 17 - Pets & Occupational Hazards

[Season 1 - Preconception] Many of us work in environments that are not completely free of risks - others, work in high risk surroundings. In this episode, we cover occupational hazards such as exposure to heavy metals, carcinogens, and other chemicals as a result of your occupation. We explore how female workers across industries are susceptible to hazardous contaminants that may directly affect their reproductive health. Also, we discuss how pets such as cats and dogs may potentially pass on infectious diseases to an expecting mother, or a women in the preconception stage, adversely affecting the pregnancy outcome. All along, we dive into why these factors pose problems, and what are the risk mitigation strategies and precautions you must take to stay safe and healthy, for you and your baby.
