How We Work

For our latest issue, A Criticism Review, we invited a group of writers and critics to reflect on current trends and desired changes in the writing community, considering new ideas about how to work.  More and more journals have closed or moved online in the past years and are commissioning fewer texts. In spite of the fact that the international art scene is flourishing, many exhibitions go by almost unnoticed in the press because of a lack of resources. However, the involuntary pause experienced by the art scene over the past two years, and its gradual reopening, have presented an opportunity to redefine and refocus the way we work.

On Tuesday the 24th of May, Objektiv presented the conversation How We Work at our temporary pop up space in the Marais, an opportunity to look closer at writers, publishers and the artists they're devoting their work to. The idea is to valorize the artist's voice, as well as the writer's. We will discuss new ideas for scholarship in contemporary art as well as the creative production of print media. A presentation from Nina Strand, followed by a discussion with contributing writer, Lillian Davies.

On Wednesday 25th of May, we invited to an apéro with artist, Ola Rindal, and a presentation of his work shown in the space. Some photographers seem to invent their very own quality of light in their imagery. Norwegian Rindal is no exception, both in his commercial work and in his own projects.
