35. Daniel Kobin

I’m speaking with Daniel Kobin, a commercial, lifestyle and sports photographer based in North Carolina.

It’s hard to believe he only began his photography journey 5 or so years ago having made the switch from a career in marketing, yet it’s the experience in that field which is often a useful tool in his approach to shooting now.

Daniel is candid about his regular meetings with imposter syndrome and anxiety, which had him questioning if he was even a photographer a few years into the profession – and how that juxtaposes with an underlying competitive streak from his collegiate playing days which drives the desire to create industry standard work with often limited time and resources. 

This is a conversation that any creative will either relate to or gain from.
