- involves the immune system
- communication with all the other organs
- healthy digestion and absorption of food
- there is constant chatting between the gut and the brain
- can be linked to mental health
- linked to anxiety and depression, ADHD etc.

The vagus nerve connects the brain and gut in a bidirectional pathway.
What are toxic to the gut?
- GMOs (wheat, corn, soy in USA)
- Insecticides & Pesticides Glyphosate
- Antibiotics
- Gluten
- Sugar
- Buildup of bad bacteria
Nourishing for the gut:
Start in small steps (have a different vegetable every week).
Start removing food triggers, sugar, alcohol and processed foods.
Add in nourishing foods: antioxidants, vegetables, fermented vegetables, bone broth, berries
