Marvel’s Midnight Suns release date was announced during Summer Games Fest, and it’s going to be a slow four months as we wait to get our hands-on the game again. We had the chance to check out Midnight Suns’ opening gameplay, and while it might not be XCOM 3, it’s certainly shaping up to be more than just a cash-in on a popular IP.

It’s not just the release date that we know about – 2K and Firaxis have shared details on other aspects as well, such as post-launch DLC plans, as well as the playable roster of heroes at launch. Announced at the same time as the release date, Marvel’s Midnight Suns launches alongside a season pass. Senior franchise producer Garth DeAngelis, confirmed in an interview that four new characters will be coming after launch, and that the studio plans to sell alternate cosmetic outfits for heroes via an in-game marketplace.
