What's Wrong With Alcohol?

"Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." (Proverbs 20:1) How does alcohol cause a person to err? We hope that after viewing the nine Scriptural answers, that you will agree that all nonmedical use of alcohol is wrong. "Whoredom and wine... take away the heart." (Hosea 4:11) William Shakespeare said, "Oh God, that men should put an enemy in their mouths to steal away their brains?" Why should the Church have less than fervent opposition to that which is the leading cause of death among sixteen year olds.
