Today, on Notable Leaders’ Radio, I speak with Dan Rockwell, Leadership Freak and co-author of The Vagrant. He highlights the value of structured self reflection and tells us, “Somewhere along the way, you learn to trust the things in your heart - the frustrations, the joys, the aspirations - and somehow give them away in a way that makes sense to other people.”

In today’s episode, we discuss:

Leaders who show up with openness, a curiosity to listen, and learn, have the ability to bring out the best in people. If you’re not listening well, you’re not serving yourself or others very well.

Be yourself, and bring value. Don’t worry that you’re not the perfect solution to every situation, just give what you have.

Self-reflection in isolation leads to self deception. Dan tells us, “I’m encouraging leaders to invite others into the process.”

There is great power in understanding the value and importance of others on your journey. There are a lot of other people in the world who want to help when you invite them.

The transformation that takes place when you engage in structured self-reflection daily, as a constant re-evaluation of who you are.
