Joshua begins to allot the land to the Israelite tribes. We start by looking at the Transjordanian tribes (east of the Jordan), Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. As we look at the land allotted to each tribe, we study the men from which each tribe came, these sons of Jacob/Israel. If you're wanting to do some reading in advance (or after), read through the story of Joseph in Genesis 37-50, or you can just hone in on chapters 48-49, which help to guide the discussion on the tribes of Israel.
