Mark Johnson started watching “Lost” four years ago, after his wife slipped on the sidewalk. She broke one elbow and dislocated the other, eliminating the use of her arms for about a month.

So the Des Moines man stayed home to take care of her, passing the time with episodes he rented from Netflix. It didn’t take long before he – and then she – became hooked.”I’ve sort of got my whole family sucked into it now,” said Johnson, 32, adding that his father started watching last summer and his sister helps him produce a podcast (NotAnotherLostPodcast.com) after each week’s episode. “It’s sort of been this long weird journey.”
