This week, I went into the vault and found a chat with Bartenders Roger and Josh from Hopscotch. Previously located at Red Dot Traffic Building, the bar moved to Gillman Barracks in 2018. 

In this interview, we have an insightful conversation on what it’s like to be a bartender in Singapore. They share some of Roger and Josh’s pet peeves when serving customers. We discuss the processes of making certain drinks and differences between brands.

They talk about the concept behind Hopscotch and they also recall their journey to becoming bartenders. They share the reservations their families have for their career and what keeps their passion alive despite the challenges.

Lastly, they share what makes a good bartender, stories of the craziest drinks they made and how they sometimes play Cupid for their customers.
