Leaders Worth Remembering

After listing names and noting achievements of heroes and heroines who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness and obtained promises, the anonymous author of Hebrews 11 adds “there were others” (Hebrews 11:36). Captured in that single word, “others”, are individuals, perhaps an innumerable multitude of men and women, past and present, whose names are not listed but whose names are written in the Book of Life. It is “others”, the lesser known, the seldom recognized, the sometimes overlooked and forgotten, that God has used and continues to use to inspire us, to encourage us, to bring us hope.
