Our first "side dish" of S5 - we have Bloomington's next Mayor, Kerry Thomson. After decades as the CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County, and more recently as Executive Director of the IU Center for Rural Engagement, Kerry took the time to sit down with us an dive into why she decided to run for Mayor, how she plans to tackle the biggest issues our community faces, and how she believes progress starts by bringing all parties to the table and listening to everyone's ideas, even those you may disagree with. She also shares how she was set on moving to Bloomington after a ten week bike trip across the country that came through town, growing up playing hide and seek at the pentagon, and how much she misses Laughing Planet. Regardless of your politics, I think you'll be hard pressed to have anything less than cautious optimism after listening to Kerry and we're very grateful for her taking the time to come and chat with us.
